Tambopata Reserve 4 days Itinerary:

Day
1: We will gather at the airport where we’ll drive you to our motorboat and start our trip up the river for about three hours, until we arrive at the lodge. If the weather allows it we’ll visit a native community before embarking for another two hours of boating. During the journey we’ll be able to see caimans, turtles, aquatic birds, etc. and eat our box-lunch. Arriving at our lodge we’ll have a welcome drink. After, a brief rest we’ll hike the short trail to a small lake from where we’ll continue on towards the Sunset-point, just in time to watch an incredible sunset over the jungle.

When it’ll be getting darker we’ll get into our boat once more, armed with torches to seek and observe caimans. Back in the campsite we’ll have diner with the bilingual guides who are resident in this area and will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have concerning the Amazonian jungle and the Tambopata-reserve.

Day
2: This will be an early-rise day we’ll start hiking for about 5 kilometers with our guide until the Cocococha-lake. During this walk we’ll have plenty of opportunity to observe many different plants, exotic insects, butterflies, multi-colored birds, monkeys and with any luck also some of the larger mammalians. On the lake we’ll have some canoes to take some small trips on the water and observe the wealth and variety of wild fauna at the shores.
Back at the lodge we’ll have some lunch (maybe a little late) after what we’ll have the afternoon free to rest and enjoy any independent activity.

Day 3: Early in the morning we’ll have a visit to the parrot’s macaw clay lick (place where they gather to eat salt or clay). We can also visit a macaw clay lick for larger mammalians. In the afternoon-hours we’ll have a walk and visit the native community of La Torre (The Tower) after which we’ll return to our campsite for a quiet night.

Day 4:
We’ll wake up and have breakfast very early in the morning before embarking for our journey back. As a last present we’ll be able to enjoy the unforgettable sight of a sunrise over the jungle. Once in Puerto Maldonado we’ll have a transfer that will bring us to the airport for our flight back.
