This is a day hike for people who love nature and want to experience the majesty of the Andes Mountains but don’t have time for a multi-day trek. On this day hike you will view one of the most famous peaks of the Cusco region, Salkantay Mountain (6,275m/20,576ft), and you will hike part of the famous Salkantay trek. This day hike is good for people who are training to go on the Inca Trail or any other trek in the Andes.

We will pick you up early from your hotel in our private transport and will drive 2 hours to the town of Mollepata where you will be served a hearty breakfast. Then we will drive another hour to Soraypampa, our trailhead, and begin a slow, uphill trek to Humantay Lake. Located at the base of Humantay Mountain, the lake is a beautiful turquoise color, and it is possible we will see condors flying over the mountains. After exploring the area and taking photos, we will return to Soraypampa and then take our private transport back to Mollepata where we will lunch and rest before returning to Cusco.
