Sacred Valley Tour: Chinchero, Moray, Salt Mines

Sacred valley Tour; The Sacred Valley is filled with a mix of historical attractions and living cultural traditions, and it is very popular with visitors to Peru. From Cusco we will drive in a loop to visit some of the most interesting sites in this heartland of the Incas. In the colorful town of Chinchero you will be introduced to the weaving culture – the preparation of the wool, how they use natural dyes to color the wool, and the weaving process to create beautiful textiles. Moray is a series of circular terraces that served as an agricultural laboratory for the Incas, where they were able to experiment with crops in different microclimates and soils. Sacred Valley: Pisac, Ollantaytambo

The eastern side of the Sacred Valley is steeped in history and culture yet avoids the crowds of Machu Picchu. This tour will start with a visit to Pisac ruins – an ancient Incan city with widespread farming terraces, stunning views, and the largest Inca cemetery in Peru. Next you will visit the lively and colorful Pisac Market. You can rest and enjoy lunch in Urubamba before continuing to our final stop. Ollantaytambo is uniquely beautiful with its original Incan street designs and massive, beautifully carved stones. Ollantaytambo village was a strategic military, religious, and agricultural center. The Ollantaytambo archeological site was an impressive Inca fortress that guarded the valley entrance from possible invasion from the lower jungles. It overlooks the town and valley, and a visit offers a perfect conclusion to the day. Note: This tour can also be done in reverse.
